There was this weird theme that kept popping up. We all realized that Karl Urban (who plays the young Dr. McCoy) doesn’t take a bad picture, ever. There were these make-up continuity photos that were taken with Polaroid cameras, close-ups with a flash and everyone looks awful in them except for Karl Urban, Dr. Gorgeous. He was like [John makes a very manly, sexy face…we laugh]. So we started leaving pictures for each other in the make-up trailer, these really glamorous poses. Chris and I were doing it ironically and we, of course, looked goofy with these [male model] Zoolander eyes, Blue Steel eyes, except Karl Urban would do it and he would look like a real fashion model so he got a weird reputation for never taking a bad picture.

I do want to create art beyond rage. Rage is a place to begin, but not end. I’m not as wise as my work, but I know if I take the writing deep enough, something larger and greater than myself will flash forth and illuminate me, heal me. The Knight shows a flash of teeth. It’s like watching a small cat try to act threatening. He’s deadly, it’s true, but right now he looks like he just wants his hair fluffing and maybe a cookie.
Phasma bites her fist in misguided cute aggression.
“I’m NOT cute!” he yells again.
“Your nose.. and your mouth, and you hair and your eyes and the–”
That does it. Kylo leaps off the bed and flings her to the ground. “Take that back!”
Phasma dissolves into giggles, the sound alarming to her, and she shakes her head. “Never!”
“Take it back take it back take it back!”
His tickle attack just makes her shriek louder, and then he’s laughing, too, and that’s it. There’s no going back all night.

- peter getting bullied for being trans is 10x more believable than him getting bullied for being a nerd
- “penis parker” is actually a transphobic insult. when peter first started packing, it fell out of his pants and flash has never let him live it down.
- ned asks him “do you lay eggs?” even though only female spiders lay eggs because ned knows peter is trans
- peter is shorter than the entirety of the cast
- even though most 15yo boys have tied ties before, aunt may has to teach peter how to do a windsor knot bc this is his first school dance as a boy
- honestly the entirety of the “I know what a girl sounds like.” “I’m not a girl! I’m a man! I mean, I’m a male!” scene is good evidence
